Dr. Almazan's practice of psychiatry has been inspired by mentors with strong biological psychiatry/psychosocial/cognitive behavioral orientation during her adult residency at the University of North Dakota, Fargo, ND and fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of California Davis Medical Center. She has more than fifteen years of in-patient care in both the private and public sector, where during those years she worked as consultant for correctional facility and state hospital setting. She has been in an eclectic private practice since 1990. She has her B.S. in Zoology at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, and received a degree of Doctor of Medicine at the Dr. NRMF Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. She holds an active California medical license and a North Dakota, Minnesota license (inactive).

-She had her visiting Fellowship training in Transcranial Magnetic brain Stimulation, Neuromodulation in the following institutions:
a) Columbia University (NY Psychiatric Institute), in 2010
b) Berenson-Allen Center Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston Mass, 2011.

Dr. Laurie Peters received her B.A. in Psychology from Stanford University. She was conferred and had her medical degree, internship, and residency at University of California, San Diego. Dr. Peters has been in eclectic private practice in the Northern California area for over 30 years with strong advocacy for patients' care and well-being. Dr. Peters has been affiliated with the Specialty Center since 1995.




Dr. Ramon M. Ferrer

Dr. Ramon Ferrer completed his B.S. in Preparatory Medicine at the University of the East, Manila, then he received his medical degree from the University of East-Ramon Magsaysay Medical school. He served as a medical officer in the Philippine Air Force. Dr. Ferrer worked in the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota from 1984-1986. He trained in adult psychiatry from 1992 to 1996 and served his chief residency in Mount Sinai Elmhurst Hospital Department of Psychiatry, New York. In addition to his ten years of inpatient experience, he has maintained a private practice with the Specialty Center, Inc. since 1997.

Dr. Richard Sanchez completed his undergraduate education with a B.A. in Biology from the University of Southern California, and his medical degree from Dartmouth College. After serving his internship and residency at the University of California, Davis, he practiced in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He now practices in a private setting in Fair Oaks, California. Dr. Sanchez has been with the Specialty Center, Inc. since 2005.
